The Work in Malawi
Bob
and Flo Calderwood retired from their secular jobs in 1987 to do mission work. Bob
had been an Air Controller for the FAA and Flo worked as an accountant for the State of South Carolina. They went to Guyana,South
America, to do their first mission work. They found the climate to be very hot and very wet. In 1992 an opportunity resented
itself to go to Malawi, Africa, and after much prayer and consideration they decided to continue their mission work there.
After 18 years, they have no regrets about the change. Both are graduates of the International Bible Institute
and Bob is the director of the Lubagha Bible Institute a University accredited by the International Association of Bible Institutes.
Flo teaches the native women to train their children and other women. She also teaches the women on nutritional cooking utilizing
available native foods.

Our mission aim is three fold.
First
to encourage and edify the church throughout Malawi. The Lubagha Bible Institute
is training evangelists, preachers
and women with degree programs for each. Another
is through offering correspondence courses to people throughout the
Region as part of
our outreach program. This course was developed in conjunction with the World Bible
School headquartered
in Austin, Texas. The third mission aim is directed to the public,
(and some private), schools. The program is geared
towards ending Aids in Malawi
through Biblical teaching on higher moral standards. Once the program is presented to
the schools they eagerly seek the program material. This program does involve
distribution of New Testament Study
Bibles which we have printed, bound and shipped
to the mission for a total cost of $3 per bible. We encourage everyone
to contribute
towards this effort! The information contained in this $3 Bible is extensive including New
Testament
background, Chronology of the Life of Jesus, Monies, weights and
measurements, the Jewish Calendar, a Practical study
guide of first principles, a
section on the New Testament church and the complete N.T.
We
solicit your prayers and donations toward these efforts. May God Bless You for your
generous help!
